40 YEARS A STORY OF PASSION

  • 1977

    Ezio Comparini and his brother Mario found the CUOCO GEL company, later becoming GELIT S.p.A, one of the most important market leaders in the frozen production of stuffed crepes, croquettes, arancini and fried bread mozzarella.

  • 1991

    Ezio Comparini is the first in the world to introduce the «stir fry» method of production («saltato in padella»), a new technology that has the merit of revitalizing and relaunching the segment of the frozen ready meals market with a product prepared in a pan in just 5 minutes instead of the usual 30/40 minutes.

  • 1993

    The company conquers the dining tables of consumers by marketing its products under the Surgela brand, later becoming Buitoni, an exclusive partner of the most important frozen food brand.
    Mr. Ezio Comparini’s company becomes the first leading competitor in the multinational market, producing about 20,000 tons of products, including stuffed crepes, i.q.f. ready meal, croquettes, arancini, fried bread mozzarella, etc.
    It was the first in the world to introduce the frozen ready meals in the USA market, selling “Gnocchi alla Sorrentina” under Trader Joe’s brand.

  • 2010

    Ezio Comparini founds COME s.r.l. specialized in the production of innovative meal solutions at room temperature by a patented system. The products are ready in a few minutes in a pan or in a microwave oven: they are made in Italy, free from preservatives, colorants, GMOs, glutamate.

  • 2016

    The company invests in building a plant dedicated to GLUTEN FREE products with specific and highly innovative machinery.
    In June 2016, the Italian Ministry of Health licenses COME s.r.l. for the production and packaging of gluten-free meal solutions, with a registration in the S.INTE.S.I.S System.

  • 2021

    A new revolution comes from cauliflower rice, a versatile dish to be served as a single vegetarian dish or as a rich side dish for many main courses based on meat or fish. Healthy and gluten-free alternative to rice due to its low calorie and carbohydrate content, cauliflower rice is rich in fiber and vitamin C. It can be eaten as it is or heated for 1 minute in a pan or in the microwave.
